There’s something deeply nourishing about gathering in a bookstore—surrounded by words, stories, and the people who bring them to life. This November, I’m honoured to host the launch of FreeFall Magazine, Volume 35, Number 2, and to help welcome this new issue into the world.
FreeFall has long been a vital home for Canadian writers and artists, and this evening is a celebration of that living literary ecosystem—voices meeting voices, pages becoming sound, and community taking shape in real time.
I can’t wait to gather with you at Owl’s Nest Books for an evening that blends poetry, prose, music, and conversation in the way only a launch night can.

Why You Should Attend
Literary magazines are living archives of our time. They hold the questions we’re asking, the risks we’re taking, and the stories that insist on being told.
Launching a new issue together—out loud, in community—is an act of celebration and care. It reminds us that writing doesn’t happen in isolation; it happens in rooms like this, with people who listen deeply.
