For National Poetry Month this year, I will have the joy of joining the Sudbury Writers’ Guild for an intimate evening called Writing Spirit – a gathering about the deep well that poetry draws from. We will come together over Zoom to listen closely, to honour the word as ceremony and song, and to hold space for both celebration and grief. It will be tender, electric, and exactly the kind of communion I live for.

What to Expect
This is an hour to slow down and go inward – poetry not as performance alone, but as a source we return to again and again.
Together we will explore:
- The source of spirit – and the art of deep listening
- Poetry as ceremony and song – words that mark and carry us
- Verse in celebration and in grief – the full spectrum of what a poem can hold
- A taste of my recent work – from THE ONEIRONAUT Ø1, Ø2 and A Love Letter to Emily C to my podcast, NAUT FOR EVERYONE
Why It Mattered
There’s a reason we gather around poems in the hardest and brightest moments of our lives. Words are how we metabolize the world. Writing Spirit is a reminder that the page and the voice are sacred ground – that to write from spirit is to write toward each other. My thanks to the Sudbury Writers’ Guild for holding this beautiful space.
