– Claudia Bosch

He’d left behind all things familiar in his life
at twenty-one, and braved the great unknown.
Immersed himself in a new country, culture – rife
with strange new ways. Into it, he himself had thrown.

No matter this, the escapade was worth the price.
It served forevermore to help him find his way.
Turns out this strange new land was paradise.
The challenges, untold? He bravely faced them every day.

A university degree, great friends, a loving family,
followed in time. To him, these meant the world.
At last, he’d found his home in Calgary;
his own safe hav’n; the future, bright, unfurled.

He’d proven, with tenacity and grit,
that it is possible to shape one’s life to fit.
