The Artist

– Jessica Nielsen

Always a smile upon her face
A giggle you just have to embrace

An artist at heart, she wanted to be
Slowly noticing that nobody sees

Her bright light started to dim
Shadows and darkness forming within

Feeling lower than ever, not able hide
She feared, she cried, she almost died

Not knowing who she was anymore
There came a ring at her door

There was but one, who would say
Don’t quit, don’t stop, don’t delay

That day she woke right up
Opened her eyes and in ran luck

Now amongst the crowded rooms
You’ll not forget her glow of truth

Never wanting to give up again
Her love, desire, strength will win

She’s come further than the rest
Putting forth only her very best

Now she breathes, walks with stars
Amongst ones we all envy from afar
